Golden Fiber

Golden grass is a collective name for the plants and shrubs and the allied resources which are used for crafting. Besides  ivory woods many natural stuffs like jute, reeds, crusts  are used as basic materials in handicraft works. Some of  the essentials are as follows:-

Jute Works

Jute also known as golden grass  is a  natural fiber derived from plant. It is cheapest of all fibers and very economical too.  It is mixed with other to make new type of fiber and  used as a blending yarn for weaving strong and long lasting materials. It  makes thick and tough   fabric which are use for packing, packaging and storing things.  Quality jute is also used for making  Winter garments with embroidery works on it shirts and jackets are also  made of it. Besides. Some printed and  dyed products of jute have  high demand for  inside decoration. Carpets and mats are also manufactured in countries like India and Bangladesh who contribute  highest jute products. Other jute products  includes cushion covers table clothes, tea cozies, Christmas decorative, play things and many others.

Coir ware :

Coconut is the most familiar fruit in India. It  is not only used as a eatable fruit but  it  is  also offered to the God and Goddess thinking it a divine fruit. The Fruit has an unique scale which is used for making a coarse kind of fabric. The       cord   derived from coconut is called Coir.  The naming the  fabric is according to the place of origin where it is called 'kayur' (rope) and 'kayaru' ( twisted) in Malayalam language which is spoken in a Indian state named Kerala . The articles made of  coir is  very hard, strong and durable. It was used as the raw material for the ropes made by the people. But in course of time, man became much intelligent and made some sophisticated  structures and designing out of the refuse of the fruit. When the case of coconut is removed from the fruit structure a kind of fiber can be derived from it which is used for weaving many useful and decorative items as well. The ornaments  made of coir is no wonder now. It is  used for making many things like thick and stern rope, carpets, cushions, mattress, wall hangings and other decorative items like dolls and images. There  is a procedure to obtain the quality husk or coir to be employed in domestic use. the hard coat of  coconut is kept  submerged in water for some weeks to  make soft and to be rubberized. Then the immersed residue is retrieved and dehydrated till it basks properly. Then the material is beaten by wooden  hammer or the kind to seclude the smooth fiber from the rough husk. After which it is woven in to many different outputs.  Coir products are very cheap and reliable hence it is popular  and taken its own place in the  world  market. Some products like doormats, floor mats, drudgeries, durries, bags, and idols  are most wanted things by the people.
