Fragrant are used since Adam was lad as soon as he became conscious and recognizing the good and bad smells . To avoid the odor he had taken the the help of natural fragrant. He had learned how to neutralize odor and sprinkle freshness and fragrance in the air. Then man had made this as a tradition to use fragrant reckoning the flowers, trees and other things which bestows aromatic scent. They had also discovered other balmy things like camphor eucalyptus spikenard and musk etc. and known to make pungent oils and pastes. And since the primeval days people has been using sweet fragrances or aromatic pastes. Generally perfumes and fragrant ointments are either liquids paste slurries or ointments in nature. Historians suggests that use of this kind of slurries oil and ointments had originally began from from India. Indians, being very religious using these scents during their rites and rituals. sandalwood, ochre and camphor are traditionally used by Hindus up to this day and age. Perhapsit was used at the time of any auspicious occasion auspicious by the people. The aromatic oils and liquids are sprinkled on the clothes and body. However, we are concerned with different types of fragrant and the process through which it goes :became lover of nature aesthetic he had started appreciating the brilliant creation. Beautiful flowers and its lovely fragrance had enchanted the heart of man.

Floral Scents:Flowers had enchanted the man ever since he had fallen among the grace and beauty of flower. When he become closer to the lovely flowers he was again charmed by its sweet fragrance. By the beginning of historic age man had learned to make paste and balm or slurries to be used during some ceremonies and special occasion. Then he had tried how for extracting and storing the fragrant form the flowers. Perhaps he had known the steam process of making wine and following the same he was able to gather the sweet scented oil or liquid from the flowers which seemed him much better and easier to use

Sandalwood :This tree is widely found in India from where it is said to be exported to some of the European countries. There are three types of sandal wood found in the world. They are white sandalwood a commonly found plant yellow sandalwood and red sandal wood which are scare and hardly found in these days. Oil is extracted from the the which is nicely aromatic and spicy. But the main draw back of the manually processed sandal oil is that it is said to be very thick where's the people prefer mill made and refined oils.

Musk :Musk is very popular among men which is widely used by them as cosmetic product. It is a reddish-brown substance which is derived from the navel gland of the male musk- deer which are commonly found in the Himalayas' region. Many companies used his a base fro perfume and talcum powder. It is also used as an ingredient in sop making and also for making of after shave lotion. It is a precious and valuable substance.

Camphor: Camphor is a crystalline and translucent element whitish in color. It is a volatile substance which has heady smell and bitter taste. It was used by the people of India, Arab, Greece and other in the early days. It is used for different purposes. It is used in pharmaceuticals as an ingredient of medicine. It is also used as a pesticide which hinders the pests to many any harms to clothes and other expensive fragile textile items. It is refined and made cut in to different square sizes before use.

Spikenrd: This is also an age old discovery used in the human civilization the since early days. It is a sweet smelling tall Indian plant. A perfumed ointment is extracted from spikenard. The aromatic smell of this oil is pleasing and plausible. Long years ago it was applied for medicinal use. people were know that applying this oils to hairs helps to grow and blackens as well. It was found that Romans were importing this oils from year old Indian market and store them in alabaster containers. It was an expensive perfume because it always had huge demand and the supply side of the product was unable to meet the wants of the people as the plant was rarely found in the quickly reachable area. Actually cultivation of this plant is not so easy rather the plant is on the road of extinct at this time being. It is also survives only in hilly and cold regions like Himalayas in India where it used to be largely found once upon a time. To obtain the piquasy liquid the spikenard has to be go through distillation.

Nard :Botany refers many aromatic grass like lemon grass, ginger grass, citronella etc .which yield scented oils and the nard is one of them which diffuses perfumed fragrance if it is touched. Costus :is also derived from the root of a perennial plant in the mountain valley of Kashmir (India). The country was exporting this as a raw material to Rome and China and other countries in the ancient days where they were using it as a spicy perfume. The size of he root is commonly equal to the size of finger wit and has yellowish woody part and a whitish burl.
