Knitting and Lacing
|
|
Suturing and joining are the handiworks acted upon the wool strands
or fiber of jute and helix of coir. The kitting and lacing are done by knitting
rod. The fibers are entwined using simple tools made of metal or alloys to
entangle the threads easy and quickly.
Coir, jute and grass are used for making tough rough and tough
fibers which are applied for making abrasives. Coir is treated by merging it in
the water for a long time after which it becomes soft and smooth. then it is
used for making mats, carpet and others. Similarly jute is cleaned and twirled
into yarns for producing garments, abrasives, durries and accessories. Grass
are processed for knitting beautiful items like carpets mats and screens for
home furnishing and decoration.
